Black boxes in Cars

According to Reuters, the United States Department of Transportation has submitted a proposal requiring that black boxes are installed in all new cars effective September 1,2014.
The black box device records crash related data such as track speed, brake activity, crash impact, if seat belts were used, among others.
Its objective is to determine steps required to save lives and prevent injuries.
